Katniss Everdeen is having a fashion moment. While we can expect high fashion stakes on the red carpet this Sunday for the World Premiere of ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ being held here in London, it’s on the silver screen itself that couture quality costumes are having their parade. Rumour has it that stylist, and the film’s costume designer, Trish Summerville - who put together ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s’ dark Scandinavian Gothic look - has taken her cue from the likes of Christopher Kane and Alexander McQueen in her designs for this film. We’ve spotted some Christian Dior-esque frothy feathers and tulle in there and Gareth Pugh will enjoy the leather with feather and wing-like epaulettes. What next for Summerville? A Hunger Games-inspired designer collection of course dubbed ‘Capital Couture.’ That’s capital!
